Happy New Year to all of our supporters! Now that the holidays are over, One Sparrow is ready to kick things into high gear! We already have our first community service event of the year planned: once again, we will assemble and hand out homeless care packages in honor of MLK Day of Service. We will be meeting on Saturday, January 19th at 9-11am at Paul Davis Restoration in Ashburn, VA to sort the donations and assemble the bags. And we will meet on Monday, January 21st at 10am in Reston, VA to hand out the packages around DC.
Our Goal
Our goal is to fill at least 100 bags to hand out. These bags are a huge help to those in need. They have thermal socks, thermal blankets, hats, gloves, hand warmers, first aid kits, feminine items, and food. We hope that each person that receives one of these bags will be a little bit safer on the streets this Winter.
Get Involved
If you want to get involved with this event you can sign up on the link below. You can either sign up to donate items for the bags, volunteer to sort the donations and stuff the bags, or come out with us to DC to hand the bags out. This is a great event for middle and high school students or families that are looking for ways to serve for the MLK Jr Day of Service. Younger children are welcome to volunteer once they are with a parent. We will see you on the 19th and the 21st!
